What we do

Novamedia is een marketing- en mediabedrijf met een maatschappelijke missie. Novamedia gelooft dat de wereld gebaat is bij sterke maatschappelijke organisaties en goed geïnformeerde burgers. Maatschappelijke organisaties zijn er ofwel om direct hulp te bieden ofwel om duurzame verbetering na te streven van de inrichting van de samenleving. In beide gevallen speelt kennis en goede informatie een belangrijke rol. Van oudsher is Novamedia actief via nieuwe en traditionele media. Zo was zij in het verleden mede-eigenaar van de Call Factory en Independent Media. En als oud-Novib medewerkers hebben de oprichters van Novamedia in de jaren ’80 en ’90 o.a. Novib bijgestaan bij hun eigen fondsenwerving. Op dit moment is zij voor 27% eigenaar van social gaming platform Gramble. Op het vlak van uitgeverijen is Novamedia actief met de volgende dochterondernemingen: Uitgeverij Nieuw Amsterdam/Wereldbibliotheek/Bas Lubberhuizen/Fontaine, boekenclub ECI (in 1967 opgericht om het lezen in Nederland te stimuleren, en uitgegroeid tot boekenclub met webshop in Nederland en België) en boekhandel Scheltema in Amsterdam.
